Spraylat was established in 1992, we started in a rented room in the Caswell Adhesives building in Kettering, Northamptonshire.
The team started with the Managing Director, Jon Caswell and three other members of the team. As the product developed so did the team, from a team of four to a team of ten by 1999. Including our very own Tony Willmott, followed by Kerry Willmott in 2000 and Nigel Chappel in 2003, all are still part of our team today!
In the early 90’s Protectapeel was known as Peelaway Coatings and was mainly used within the sign industry, providing a maskant to protect signs during spray painting.
By 2001 the company was growing and so was the need for space. We moved from Kettering to Corby where we have been ever since!
In 2009, Andrew Keir was appointed as Business Development Director, focusing on further accelerating the use of the brand name “Protectapeel” worldwide.
Sadly, in November 2009 Jon Caswell a much-loved manager and friend passed away suddenly. Andrew Keir became the Managing Director and developed a Technical Department to formulate new products and invested in new equipment as the company continued to increase its product range.
In 2014 the building was extended to include more office space, two new meeting rooms and a larger factory area.
In 2020, we saw an opportunity to develop a new service cycle, focusing on the on-site needs of our customers. Demonstrations, a cost comparison calculator, application guides, applicator training, videos, and universal support were all made available, free of charge, to customers and potential customers. The new service cycle, as it is known, helps to increase sales and improve customer satisfaction levels.
In 2022, we decided to update our branding with a brand new Protectapeel logo and updated website.
The last few years have seen us protect some amazing buildings such as One Nine Elms, Brass Founders and The Octagon!
We cannot wait to see what else the future has in store for us!
